The centre of the IS consists of the MHC I molecule presenting a peptide, the TCR, and CD8 co‐receptor, which binds the MHC I molecule/peptide complex. B) Magnification of the MHC I molecule with bound peptide. The MHC I molecule structure consists of a heavy chain of three alpha domains (α1–3) anchored by a transmembrane domain and a β2‐microglobulin (β2‐m) light chain.
