The names of the primers listed in Table 1 were used to represent the var subclasses. *Indicate p-value that was significant after Bonferroni correction for multiple comparisons (10, 5 and 3 comparisons for the transcript quantity, proportional expression and non-overlapping proportional expression respectively).
