Volume was estimated as the mean between the volume of a cone and that of an ellipsoid for shelled snails (see Ansart et al., 2014) and as the volume of a cylinder for slugs. Mean size estimations were extracted from Welter-Schultes (2012), Kerney and Cameron (1999) and Rowson et al. (2014) for European species and from Pilsbry (1940, 1948) for American species.
