Depletion of uric acid from Drosophila culture medium by Acetobacter. Used food from axenic Drosophila culture was incubated with the bacterial strains indicated for 72 h, or with no bacteria as control. Uric acid concentration was determined for these samples as well as sterile food that had not been exposed to Drosophila.
