Modulation of HIV-iGFP capsid integrity loss. (A) NH4Cl-synchronized infection with either WT or N74D capsid and with NVP washout 50 min postfusion. The capsid integrity loss was delayed until NVP removal. N74D capsid integrity loss is ∼30 min slower compared with WT, and HIV-iGFP viruses labeled with IN-Ruby behave like mCherryVpr particles. (B) NH4Cl-synchronized infection of CHO or CHO-TRIMCypA cells has a normal phenotype in the presence of CsA, and viral capsid integrity was maintained in TRIM bodies in the presence of MG132.
