Deficiency of serotonin decreased collagen deposition in postoperative intra-abdominal adhesions in mice. Postoperative intra-abdominal adhesion formation was induced by caecum rubbing, and the mice were sacrificed on the 1^st, 3^rd and 7^th days after the operation. The adhesive tissues in each group were removed and processed for analysis.
