Polyps <15 mm in size were removed en-bloc (A). EMR differs from standard polypectomy in the depth of resection. Whereas during standard polypectomy the polyp is resected near its base at the mucosal level (B), during EMR a deeper resection ensues (C). The injection of submucosal substance (“submucosal cushion”) allows for a deeper and likely safer resection (A and C).
