(B) The mouse HLH domain of Id1 (NP_034625.1) was aligned and compared with all Xenopus laevis HLH (yellow) domains of id proteins using the Protein Blast tool (https://blast.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov). With 79% of identical amino acids, Xid2 (NP_001081902.1) (A) is the closest ortholog to Id1.
