Navy-dashed gradual curve and dark-light blue curve represent the trend curve (0.02-Hz low-pass-filitered pEMG) and sEMG (2 Hz lowpass filtered pEMG), respectively. We consider the trend curve to represent continuous and tonic muscle activity without active postural control via the CNS, and sEMG to represent a mixture of continuous and intermittent components.
