CSF Parameterization. The spatial contrast sensitivity function, which describes the reciprocal of contrast threshold as a function of spatial frequency, can be described by four parameters34: (1) peak gain, CS max, (2) peak frequency, f c, (3) bandwidth (full width at half-maximum), β, and (4) truncated fall-off on the low-frequency side, δ. The qCSF method rapidly estimates the CSF by directly estimating these four parameters.
