Identification of purified rhLF from transgenic milk. (A) Purification of rhLF by cation-exchange chromatography using a BPG 300/500 column. One hundred litres of milk from transgenic cloned cows was loaded onto a BPG 300/500 column. Peaks 1–3, proteins eluted from the column; only the protein from peak 2 was collected. (B) Identification of rhLF by SDS-PAGE. hLF was loaded as a standard. M, protein marker; hLF, human lactoferrin standard; TG, milk samples from transgenic cows; P1 and P2, rhLF eluted from the column; FT, protein fraction that was not bound to the column. (C) Identification of different batches of rhLF by SDS-PAGE. M, protein marker; 1–9, different batches of purified hLF.
