The growth of E. avium HF86 on bile esculin agar. The E. avium HF86 was tested after incubation for 24 and 48 h for esculin hydrolysis on bile esculin agar (Difco Laboratories; Detroit, USA). The formation of shiny black colonies confirms the identification of the test strain.
