Not all important concepts about meiosis are found in textbooks. Six introductory-level biology textbooks (I-1 through I-6) and eight middle/upper-level textbooks (M-1 through M-8) were analyzed for the presence of statements about homologous pairing, homology, and ploidy. Textbooks are identified in Supplemental Table 1. Green indicates the presence of the concept, while red indicates its absence.
