Schematic representation of the task. Subjects had to intercept a target (a patterned disk, as shown, or a solid one) by tapping on it. In different trials they either had to fixate the position at which they had to tap the target (Fixation condition, blue dot in left panel), or to track the target with their eyes (Tracking condition) in which case they could either tap the target wherever they wanted (middle panel) or had to tap on it within a certain area (blue region in right panel).
