NRT1.5 Mediates K+ Efflux in Yeast.
K+ efflux activities of the yeast mutant strain ANT5 (ena1-4Δ and nha1Δ) expressing NRT1.5 or NRT1.5G209E. Yeast transformed with empty vector (p416GPD) was used as the control. Yeast cells were cultured in K+-free testing buffer at pH 5.5 (A) and 7.4 (B), respectively. All data are mean ± se (n = 4). Student’s t test (**P < 0.01) was used to analyze statistical significance.
