Little GFAP immunoreactivity was observed in the Sham group, but the CCI group showed markedly increased GFAP immunostaining. GFAP-immunostaining astrocytic proﬁles were characterized by small, compact cell bodies with long, thin ramified processes seven days after HBO treatment, and significantly fewer GFAP-immunoreactive astrocytes were present in the HBO group than in the CCI group.
