Increased risk aversion with probabilistic loss outcomes (−log k _loss) and increased loss aversion (λ) in depressed patients with a suicide attempt history. Suicide attempters generally exhibited risk aversion in the loss condition (−log k _loss > 0), whereas nonsuicidal patients and healthy controls preferred risk-taking for probabilistic loss outcomes (middle graph). (B) Suicide attempters exhibited significantly higher loss aversion than did nonsuicidal depressed patients or healthy controls.
