b) Coverage rate is the number of participating pregnant women divided by the number of children born from the beginning of the recruitment period to the end of the recruitment period on March 31, 2014.

c) The number of children born is based on the population statistics for Fukushima Prefecture.

d) Minami Soma City and Futaba County are part of Soso district. The recruitment was suspended at the medical institutions in Minami Soma City and Futaba County after the TEPCO Fukushima Daiichi NPP accident in March, 2011.

e) Pregnant women who lived in the study areas of other regional centers and were enrolled at the cooperating medical facilities in Fukushima Prefecture.

f) The coverage rate was 54% in the areas excluding Soso district where recruitment was suspended.
