Metal-ion free and Cd2+-complexed C2AB associates with PtdSer-containing LUVs. Fluorescence emission spectra showing the C2AB-to-membrane FRET efficiency under different metal-ion conditions. The C2AB and total lipid concentrations are 0.5 µM and 15 µM, respectively. C2AB associates with PtdSer-containing membranes in a metal-ion independent manner. This interaction is slightly enhanced by Cd2+ based on the increase in FRET efficiency. Ca2+ data are shown for comparison.
