(A) UMUC13 cells expressing Wt-CD24 or NLS-CD24 were subjected to microarray analysis which revealed 304 genes were differentially expressed, shown here as a heat map. (B) These 304 genes were able to stratify patient outcome in 5 different cancer types. p-values from the likelihood ratio test. (C) Inhibition of cell death was observed in UMUC13 cells overexpressing NLS-CD24 relative to Wt-CD24 based on less trypan blue staining and greater colony numbers after cells were grown in poly-HEMA coated plates. (D) Proliferation of UMUC13 cells overexpressing NLS-CD24 is higher relative to Wt-CD24 expressing cells.
