Class C β-lactamases are less active than TEM-1 for CCF2-FA cleavage. Supernatants of ipaD strains expressing OspD1sh-M31L fused to class C β-lactamases were incubated with CCF2-FA. Enzymatic activity was calculated based on measurement of fluorescence emission at 450 nm upon 405-nm excitation.
