Key Figure: Artemis-Dependent c-NHEJ within the Chromatin Environment

The left upper panel depicts DSBs in open chromatin undergoing compaction during repair. The right upper panel depicts a complex DSB in pre-existing heterochromatin. In both situations, resection is initiated and Artemis-dependent c-NHEJ is activated.
