Band energy variation as a function of the buckling distance, with spin-orbital interaction. ΓVB+ and ΓVB represent the energies of the valence bands with higher and lower energy at the Γ point, which are separated due to the spin-orbital coupling. ΓCB represents the conductance band energy. Γgap is the energy difference between the conduction and the higher valence band (ΓCB − ΓVB+). K CB and K VB represent the energies of the conduction and valence band in the K point. K gap is the energy difference between K CB and K VB. All the energies are relative to the Fermi level.
