Effect of trichome exudate removal on whiteflies. The sticky exudate of tobacco trichomes were removed by ethanol and tobacco treated with water were included as control. Then the survival rate (a) and fecundity (b) of both populations were examined on them. Data shown are mean ± SE. n = 30.
