(A) The expression of cleaved caspase-9, caspase-9, cleaved caspase-7, caspase-7, cleaved caspase-3, caspase-3, cleaved PARP and PARP in MDA-MB-231 and MDA-MB-468 cells after treatment with various concentrations of PP for 24 h and 6 μM PP for different periods. (B) MDA-MB-231 and MDA-MB-468 cells were treated with 6 μM PP alone or in combination with the pan-caspase inhibitor Z-VAD-FMK (10 μM) for 24 h, and then cell viability was assessed with an MTT assay. The results were similar in at least three independent experiments. *p < 0.05, **p < 0.01, vs. control group; #p < 0.05, ##p < 0.01 vs. PP group.
