Club hair plucking activates anagen in dorsal skin (D) as well as in the ear skin along the medial side of the caudal pinna (A, B). Also see main Figure 5D. Hair plucking across the whole ear (C) reveals that HFs along the lateral side and in the center of the pinna either do not re-enter anagen (center) or re-enter it with a significant delay (lateral side). Hair cycle activation on D) was accessed based on the re-appearance of pigmentation. Ear hair plucking experiments on A–C) are based on five mice for each time point analyzed.
