(A) Vasoconstrictive response to phenylephrine (1.10−6 M), an α-adrenergic agonist. Response to phenylephrine was not modified after inhibition of ENaC. (B) Endothelium-dependent dilatory response induced by acetylcholine (1.10−6 M). Dilation of mesenteric arteries to Ach was decreased after benzamil preincubation. (C) Flow-mediated dilation in response to increased intraluminal shear stress. Dilation to flow was drastically decreased in vessels incubated with benzamil.
