Signs of hepatocytes apoptosis (red arrow), fatty changes and ballooning degeneration (black arrow), inflammation (yellow arrow), developed in thioacetamide-administered animals (B) (Table 2). Taurine administration significantly alleviated thioacetamide-induced lesions (C & D) and no tissue necrosis was observed in taurine-treated (1000 mg/kg, i.p) animals (D) (Table 2).
