Hyaluronic acid fragments produced by the activity of HYLs of P. acnes. HA was incubated with controls and culture supernatants of P. acnes strains grown to the stationary phase. Visualization of HA fragments was done on a stained 1% agarose gel. HYL-IA produced larger HA fragments, whereas HYL-IB/II activity resulted in small HA fragments.
