The arthroscopic image shows a right knee with a bucket-handle tear of the lateral meniscus as viewed from the anterolateral portal. For lateral meniscus tears, entry of the repair device is through the anteromedial portal. If possible, a vertical suture (No. 2 Ethibond) pattern is preferred because it allows for greater capture of the strong circumferential fibers of the meniscus.
