I.c.v. administration of RTX spares the function of TRPV1 at the forepaw but not at the cornea. Mice were pretreated with RTX one week before the tests [(a, b, e) s.c. pretreatment; (c, d, f) i.c.v. pretreatment]. The time course of licking/biting behavior evoked by i.pl. injection of RTX (1 ng to the forepaw, arrowheads in a, c) and the total time spent licking/biting during the first 10 minutes of the tests.
