Mast cell (MC) granule depletion prevents deep vein thrombosis. MC granules were depleted by consecutive daily injections of the compound 48/80 as described in the Methods section. Control mice were administered sterile saline. Then, mice were subjected to 48 h inferior vena cava stenosis, and thrombi were excised and measured. n=7 in both groups.
