Wave 1 values are dichotomous reflecting drinker or smoker status. Levels of drinking and smoking behavior engagement are represented by percentages of individuals who engaged in drinking behavior or smoking behavior at different levels of the count variable. Drinking frequencies; 0 = I have never had a drink of alcohol, 1 = I have only had 1,2,3, or 4 drinks of alcohol in my life, 2= I only drink alcohol 3 or 4 times a year, 3 = I drink alcohol about once a month, 4 = I drink alcohol once or twice a week, 5 = I drink alcohol almost daily. Smoking frequencies; 0 = I have never smoked, 1 = I have smoked cigarettes 1,2,3, or 4 times in my life, 2 = I smoke cigarettes 3 or 4 times a year, 3 = I smoke about once a month, 4 = I smoke about once or twice a week, 5 = I smoke almost daily or every day. Pubertal status is represented by percentage of participants considered pubertal.
