Metabolic syndrome (MetS) components by economic hardship. Using prospectively collected data, subjects' economic trajectories across the years of the Great Recession (2007–2010) were classified as Stable Low Income, Downward Mobility, or Deepening Poverty. In 2015, when subjects were 25 years of age, components of MetS were assessed. Values are percent of subgroup who met clinical threshold for each MetS component based on IDF criteria.
