The experimental conditions are as described in §4.1. This colony has indices I_r = 0.29 and I_θ = 0.113. Model simulations are computed using L_x = L_y = 200 and s = 1, with unbiased growth () and initial nutrient concentrations (b) c₀ = 2, with indices I_r = 0.27 and I_θ = 0.119, and (c) 3, with indices I_r = 0.23 and I_θ = 0.0936. The model simulations provide good quantitative and qualitative matches to the experimental behaviour, which suggests that it is not possible to distinguish the filamentous growth of this colony from DLG.
