Schematic diagram of ANGPTL4 mediated the protective role of PPARγ activators in the pathogenesis of PE. PPARγ agonist induces ANGPTL4 expression by regulating the binding of the PPARγ/RXRα heterodimer to its promoter region and enhancing its transcriptional activity. Moreover, our data show that the expression and circulating activators of PPARγ and the expression and secretion of ANGPTL4 are decreased in PE subjects. In addition, we provide evidence that ANGPTL4 mediates the facilitative effects of the PPARγ agonist on regulating the survival, proliferation, migration and invasion of HTR8/SVneo cells, placental explant outgrowth and angiogenesis in HUVECs
