Distribution and arrangement of BNP-expressing neurons ((a) and (b)), NPRA receptor ((c) and (d)) in sections of dorsal root ganglion and dorsal horn of spinal cord respectively were analyzed by in situ hybridization. DRG sections show high expression of BNP neurons and almost no NPRA expression while dorsal horn of the spinal cord shows very high expression of NPRA and no BNP expression. Kidney sections with sense probe (e) and with NPRA antisense probe ((f) and (g)) are included as a positive control for NPRA expression. Scale bar = 100 µm.
