Task-switching procedure for Experiment 1–3 (a–c). In all three Experiments, on each trial, participants were cued to perform one of two (or three) categorization tasks on the presented stimulus. In Experiments 1, the task to perform was cued by the color of the stimuli whereas in Experiment 2–3, the task was cued by the color of a frame placed around the stimuli.
