Swarming motility of B. subtilis 9407(WT) and ΔsrfAB with or without adding exogenous surfactin as assessed in swarming agar plates. ΔsrfAB showed a significant defect in swarming motility compared with WT. The swarming motility of ΔsrfAB was restored by adding 2 μL of the commercial surfactin (10 μg/mL). (A) Swarming motility showed in swarming agar plates, (B) the diameter of swarming zone of B. subtilis 9407(WT) and ΔsrfAB with or without adding exogenous surfactin.
