FTIR characterization of the nanofiber scaffolds. The appearance of peaks between 1530 and 1660 cm−1 corresponding to N-C=O stretching vibrations of primary and secondary amide bonds in elastin confirms the presence of elastin in the nanofiber scaffolds and indicates the preservation of elastin peptides after inclusion into the nanofibers.
