Effects of light level on aphid consumption by the two predators during laboratory feeding trials. Predators were allowed to forage for 20 aphids for 1 h with three different light levels (none, low or high). The number of aphids consumed by Col. maculata (closed circles) was not affected by light level. However, the number of aphids consumed by Coc. septempunctata (open circles) increased with light level. Each point is the number of aphids consumed during one of 13 replicated trials.
