FnIII-1c and LPS synergistically regulate IL-8 expression in dermal fibroblasts. Monolayers of human dermal fibroblasts (A, B) were serum starved overnight before treatment with 2 μM of the designated FnIII domains and 2 μg/mL LPS, alone or in combination. The theoretical expected additive effect of combining FnEDA and FnIII-1c is represented by the open dashed line bar. After 4 h, conditioned medium was collected and IL-8 was determined by ELISA.
