Note. Family Communication Environment (openness/expressiveness) was measured on a 5-point scale (1 = never, 5 = all the time). Mean with the different subscripted alphabet letter in each raw indicated that means of item among profiles were statistically distinguishable at the .05 alpha level, based on ANOVA with Tukey ad-hoc method in SPSS. Order of Alphabet indicated statistically lager mean in each item. When LPA was performed in Mplus, it assigned each individual into a specific profile based on the most likely class membership. ANOVA with an ad-hoc method was conducted based on this information to compare item’s mean difference among profiles. Although a Wald test was superior to a simple ANOVA test to explore an item’s mean difference among profiles, we did not conduct it to minimize type I error (36 Wald tests = 6 tests to compare one item among profiles × 6 items) statistically increased Type I errors.
