Figure 12

Portions of a MARDI infinity focus and solar illuminated color characterization image acquired on 7 July 2008. MARDI was in a cleanroom environment and was pointed through a window, toward a window in the next room, to obtain views of blue sky, green palm fronds, parked automobiles, and three persons, two of whom were holding a Macbeth ColorChecker® color chart. (a) Portion of the image that has been lightened to make the two windows visible. (b) Enlarged portion of the same image with no calibration, no color adjustment applied. Neither view is geometrically corrected. These images demonstrate that MARDI faithfully reproduces color as seen by the human eye under Earth solar illumination conditions.
