Deletion of pafBC in Msm results in increased susceptibility to DNA damaging agents. (A) Survival after exposure to mitomycin C. Shaking cultures were supplemented with mitomycin C at an OD₆₀₀ of 0.1. After 8 h, serial dilutions were spotted onto LB agar plates. (B) Msm ΔpafBC displays increased sensitivity to UV irradiation. Survival of the strains was assessed by spotting serial dilutions of cultures grown to an OD₆₀₀ of 1 onto LB agar plates and exposing the cells to UV light at the indicated dose.
