Simultaneous (a) or sequential (b) exposure to propionic acid vapors and sucrose did not promote sucrose preference but rather slightly reduced it. The “*” indicates statistically significant differences with respect of the control group (Repeated measures ANOVA with a Tukey post-hoc test, p < 0.05). Data represents the average ± standard error of the mean and 13–19 independent replicates were considered for each experimental group.
