Levels of interferon-γ (IFNγ) spot-forming cells in response to varicella zoster virus stimulation. Numbers of IFNγ spot-forming cells per 2 × 10⁵ peripheral blood mononuclear cells in 24 healthy controls (HC) subjects, 9 giant cell arteritis (GCA) patients, 15 polymyalgia rheumatica (PMR) patients are shown. Results are corrected for responses in non-stimulated cultures from the same sample. Bars show the median.
