a-c The three pumps tested were the Penumbra Max electrical pump (a), a 60-mL locking syringe (b), and the ASPIRE device (c). d The vacuum pressure testing apparatus consisted of a rotating hemostatic valve attached to 3/8-inch silicon tubing, which was connected to an oil-filled vacuum pressure gauge. The system was filled with water during all testing.
