Effects of ergothioneine (EGT), hispidin (HIP), and EGT + HIP on cytoplasm IκB (Cyt-IκB), cytoplasm NF-κB (Cyt-NF-κB), and nuclear NF-κB (Nu-NFκB) protein expression in PC12 cells treated with 30 mM glucose and 30 μM methylglyoxal GLU + MGO) or 30 mM mannitol (to exclude the impact of glucose osmosis). β-Actin serves as an internal control. PC12 cells were pretreated with epalrestat (EPA), aminoguanidine (AMG), ETG, HIP, and EGT + HIP for 2 h and incubated with GLU + MGO for 72 h.
