Octopuses use rows of sensory suckers to attach to objects with varying degrees of force. This includes the use of suckers for (a) anchoring to hard objects, such as rocks, to stand against storm surge and waves [15], as well as (b) manipulating delicate or soft objects, such as octopus egg capsules [15].
